Who We Are
We are a multi-ethnic, inter-denominational group of people who desire to seek and know more about Jesus and how to respond to his love, grace, and truth! We hope to provide a safe environment for people of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs to come and learn more about Jesus Christ, God’s word, and the Christian faith.
"Our vision is to see communities of believers and seekers commit to and follow Jesus. In experiencing his transforming love, we are compelled into lives of radical generosity and reconciliation."
Below are our three core values, propelled by prayer and rooted in the word. These values inform our purpose as a witnessing community.
1) Scripture - We follow the inductive method, treat the Bible as expert, and learn how to study it for ourselves! We not only preach the Bible, but also study it critically and live it out in the context of discipleship and community.
2) Mission – We want to make Jesus known at a public university and call students to faith. We witness by building friendships and inviting those into our community to experience the love and truth of Jesus Christ. We preach the Gospel and interact over scripture, allowing the Word of God to answer questions and speak to hearts.
We also learn about and apply Biblical justice/righteousness in a multi-ethnic context. We seek after Jesus’s heart for the poor and oppressed, by ministering to our society’s marginalized through words AND action.
3) Community - This purposeful and outward-looking community strives to support one another, serve the greater Davis community and world, study scripture, disciple one another and keep each other accountable, and witness Jesus's love to others. We model after Jesus’s peer-to-peer, action-oriented discipleship, which tackles root issues instead of skimming the surface and challenges us to ask hard questions. We want to build men and women of integrity, just as iron sharpens iron.
